Clothing
So you replaced your old winter coat this past winter and now the old one is collecting dust, but you don’t want to throw a perfectly good coat in the trash. Fear not, I have the solution. Goodwill/Salvation Army/AmVets (GW/SA/AV). Donate all the old winter coats, hats, gloves, socks, pants, sweaters, shirts, ect. to your local GW/SA/AV. And while you’re pulling out all the summer clothes, donate items that you no longer want/need.

Bedding
Tired of the blue bed sheets? Donate them! Pillows, blankets, bed sheets, comforters, pillow cases, ect. GW/SA/AV will be more than happy to take them off your hands and place them into the hands of someone who needs them. Even if it’s not in perfect condition, donate it anyway.

Toys
If you’re running out of closet space in your child’s room, bag up some of those old toys and donate them!

Kitchenware
Crock pots, blenders, bowls, plates, spoons, forks, decorative dishes, cutting boards, coffee mugs, ect. Drop them off at your local GW/SA/AV. Heck, donate the table cloths! …no really, they’ll take it!

Food
Did you accidentally buy creamed corn instead of corn? Don’t worry, donate it to your local food pantry. All the odds and ends canned goods, boxed meals, bread, flour, sugar, coffee, cake mix, cookie mix, pudding mix, jello mix, dehydrated milk, pie crusts, tea, ect. Grab a box, fill it up and drop it off at your local food pantry. Food pantries are always looking for more donations, so don’t hesitate to take some random goods over there! Most food pantries will take laundry detergent, feminine hygiene products, tooth paste, tooth brushes, dental floss, mouth wash, dish soap, hand soap, shampoo and conditioner. Some will also take coupons to hand out, so drop those off too!

By doing these simple things you’ll be making a huge difference in someone’s life and cleaning out your house! It’s a win-win situation. Happy cleaning!

One of a collection of billboards just put up in the Sacramento area supporting atheist beliefs has been vandalized. The billboards were put up by the Sacramento Area Coalition of Reason to tell fellow nonbelievers they are not alone.

“This shows loud and clear just how necessary our message is, because prejudice against people who don’t believe in a god remains very real in America.” said Rachael Harrington, coordinator of Sacramento CoR.

Similar billboards have gone up in more than a dozen cities over the past year as part of a national campaign.

“The number of children who are born subsequent to a first abortion who have handicaps has increased dramatically. Why? Because when you abort the firstborn of any, nature takes its vengeance on the subsequent children.

“In the Old Testament, the firstborn of every being, animal and man, was dedicated to the Lord,” he added. “There’s a special punishment Christians would suggest — and with the knowledge that they have in faith, it’s been verified by a study from Virginia Commonwealth University — first abortions, of a first pregnancy, are much more damaging to a woman than latter abortions.”

As people with disabilities began criticizing Marshall’s remarks and started calling for his resignation, Marshall began disputing the reports that he said women who have abortions risk having later children with birth defects as a punishment from God.

Gov. Robert F. McDonnell, Del. Robin A. Abbott, Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann have also rebuked and mocked Marshall.

Marshall insists the point he was making is scientific evidence supports religious teachings from the Old Testament in regard to the firstborn as being sacred and protected from tampering.

Perhaps Marshall forgot about the part in the Old Testament when God killed the firstborn of Egypt.
